FREE HOMESCHOOLING 101 BASICS

WHAT IS FREE HOMESCHOOLING?

FREE HOMESCHOOLING HOUSEHOLDS
use Field Trips, Online "free finds",
Printed Worksheets and life experiences;
guided by parents and children; to
create a passion for life-long learning.

The term "Free" is associated with money as well as the "type" of homeschooling.  Free means, relaxed, fun, joyful, flowing..ie:
Free Homeschooling is also a way of life!

Here is the Easy Start for your FREE Homeschooling Journey.

1. For those who choose to follow a guideline for schooling, here is a site that organizes a
"Typical Course of Study" By Grade Level.

The links on this website can help guide parents to find worksheets and online assignments to fulfill the Typical Course of Study topics. As we check them off the list, we know we are educating our children. It's a wonderful feeling!

2. Here are FREE Online Diagnostic tests. They can be downloaded and saved in PDF format to our computer. They start with 1st grade Math and Language and test thru 12th grade.

You do have to create an account to download the PDF files to your computer, but the files are FREE and there is no obligation to buy anything after signing up.

The tests are "meant" to be a Placement tests to help parents know what level of work their child is best suited for, for the AOP curriculum, however they can also be a valuable tool for assessing a child's strengths and weaknesses in Math and Language. I suggest starting ALL children at the 1st grade level. Older children...even teens...will almost assuredly need to brush up on things...sometimes even from 1st grade.

These tests will take about a week to administer.
Testing 2 to 4 hours a day with many breaks should give the best results.

AOP LANGUAGE AND MATH DIAGNOSTIC TESTS

3. After your child takes the Assessment Test, check off the sections of the Typical Course of Study that your child knows.

4. The next step is to Find Free Curriculum that works for your child or print/make worksheets and lessons to teach learning gaps and continue on with their education.

Here are some more popular stops on the Free Homeschooling Journey for structured curriculum.
